My experimental video art practice explores how moving images inhabit, challenge, and extend the exhibition space. Most of my video work exists within installations where images engage with objects, space, and the viewer’s presence. Because of this, I rarely present video works as standalone pieces on my website. Instead, they appear as installation documentation - a partial glimpse of work that can only be fully experienced in the room. Guided by feminist ideology, I create work that explores family, the twisting of social expectations, and humor, often disguised in vibrant color and a playful energy.
This is a still from Legacy of Comedy, a multichannel video installation work in progress. In it, I embody my maternal grandparents, including Dolores, poolside. Positioned between personal mythology and speculation, Legacy of Comedy explores how family histories are remembered, reconstructed, and inhabited.
